...Jack Dempsey, the first man to KO Levinski.

Levinsky reckoned he'd had about 250 fights to this point, including about 60 under the alias 'Barney Williams'.

He also claimed that although he had been knocked down perhaps 25 times, he had never taken the full count prior to this stoppage by Dempsey.

....after 250 bouts, Battling Levinski cops his first 10 count, at the hands of Dempsey.

Despite getting the W this was the start of the end for Roy, he came down from Heavyweight and it was obvious it had taken something out of him (mostly reflexive reaction).

One edit: 2003! Jones had been shot for 6 years when Mssrs Calzhage, Green and Hopkins got their mitts on him

I agree Roy Jones Jr's career ended with him going to Heavyweight he was never the same fighter after that , i don't blame him and Calzaghe getting it on from a financial aspect ( they promoted it themselves and Joe generously split it 50-50 with Roy ) and it's not like Joe really went to town on him i always thought Joe took his foot off the gas at times in their fight and took no credit for the win whilst at the same time not courting any for it , good buisiness move all around .

Green ? Yes pretty much the same from a financially point but Green and his flunkies did celebrate like they had accomplished something special whilst at the same time letting the public who knew no better run with it .

Hopkins ? I think you blokes call it a DOG ACT . Hopkins waited 17 years to get revenge on Jones ,but there you go it takes all sorts and imo Hopkins is one of THAT sort .

Sugar Ray Leonard announces his retirement with a record of 32 wins and the one loss, to Roberto Duran.

The retirement would only last 27 months, with Hagler, Lalonde (your favourite Bollox), Hearns II, Duran II, Norris & Comacho to follow.

Another childhood favourite of mine ( yea long memory i know ) , a fantastic am and an out of this world pro , my only gripe to his career is that he never fought Pryor ( the boxer Aaron not the comic legend Richard) :smooch i saw his Olympic triumph on the tube the other day when he fought Duke McKenzie's brother Clinton in the 76 Olympics ,,,,Check it out below .

    Good night all ....:good

What's all this 'Leonard love' business all about anyway? :nono

Great fighter who after '82 did wtf ever he wanted where placing self serving stipulations on prospective opponents was concerned. He forced Lalonde to weigh 168? for a LHW fight ffs :dead

    Great fighter....and a narcissist / wanker :good

I agree but you will probably find most blokes in the driving seat in any sport take whatever advantage they can get over an opponent , blokes like Floyd , Hopkins etc drag potential opponents over the coals on a regular basis with their demands .
