    Sure was mate.

...and similarly sad to the death of Johnny 'Match Stick Man' Owen after his bout with Lupe Pintor.

There's excellent documentaries about both deaths, and they are both 1st grade tear jerkers.

Psst...I get all my anniversary posts from Ron Hubbard.

The Church of Scientology claim he lived for millions of years...so apologies if some of the anniversary posts are a little dated.

    MARCH 27th. 1920.

Jacky Green W/P 20 Jerry Sullivan.

This was to be Green's, also former Fly Champ, last Bantam title defence. Sullivan went on to defeat 'claimant' Billy Tingle the following year, only to win and relinquish immediately. Jacky Green tried his luck in the Feather ranks and came out on top April 5th 1920, taking the Crown from HoF'r Sid Godfrey. Losing the title to Richmond local, Bert Spargo, Green tried unsuccessfully to regain the belt in July 1921.... his old mate Jimmy Sullivan also tried in vein to better Spargo and lasted the 20 rounds.
