Hey guys, I'm new to boxing. Joined up my local boxing gym around 2 weeks ago and been loving it so far. I'm 6'2 (188cm) and my trainer has complemented me on my long arms. Now here's my question:

are there any specific things I should be doing/could be doing, as opposed to smaller boxers with a shorter reach? maybe some reminders for the taller boxer with a longer reach, some things to keep in mind?

    Thanks

Jab the hell out of your opponents/sparring partners. Make them work to get inside.
We hate tall ****ers. We expend a lot of energy trying to get inside the pocket. When they get close, circle out. Work on your footwork and get comfortable fighting while moving backwards. Distance is your friend. When they get in close in a clinch, rest your weight on them, but be careful not to get too straight and tall, as this could work against you.
