Huh? That is your representation of why boxing isn't dead? Most of these guys are dead, retired or old.

They have been trying to ban it for years ever since the times Jack Johnson fought. Ain't gonna happen. At least not in my lifetime.

it will be a long time before they have anymore PPV buys.....even though i think DLH was a sham...and was made a poster boy for the sport, he somehow sold fights....when hes gone...you wont have 500,000 buys on a given PPV event. its dead in that sense since there is no real ambassador like holyfield, tyson, DLH...... but you will get airtime on showtime, hbo, espn2, versus ect, but as for ratings..... i dont see it

I hope boxing can continue to grow and be a popular sport, of course.

I would rather pay to see a ESPN2 Friday Night Fights card then watch a free UFC PPV card, Boxing is the king of sports.

This is from yahoo. If you don't think boxing is taking a back seat to MMA look at the figures.

Yeah, UFC is getting more PPV's atm but the UFC is going through a boom period. It's a fad and everyone wants in. Boxing has been here for ages and is still going strong and will get stronger in a few years.

Despite the UFC's success this year's and last year's most bought PPV's were boxing events. If the big fights are made and properly promoted (like Pac v DLH) people will buy them but we still need less fights on PPV and more on regular HBO.
