How so? Sweat enters your eyes anyway and it doesnt cause infections..... And normal people sweat and so do other athletes e.g runners, footballers, tennis and some of them where contacts..............
The sweat is squashed inside your eye with the glove.. and its obvious sweat can go in the eye, in other sports it can happen to but the chance is very low
I don't think we even need to go that far as far as odds go. A glass contact is dangerous and out of the question. A plastic contact can fold on you. If you lose the vision in your eye for a few seconds due to a folded contact you may find yourself leaving the ring on a gurney. While I may have been long winded the point was you don't need them. Contacts really have nothing to do with your boxing vision. Boxing vision isn't about your point of focus. He doesn't need them and they are a huge risk. Contacts will help you stare at the ring girls ass more than they will help you box.
How ******ed, you can't make a sweeping statement like 'you don't need them' without knowing the individuals exact details. What if their eyesight is like -8/-10 and they struggle to even see where the boxer is placing their hands at a foot away from them
My vision is that bad, and I see perfectly fine without them. Only thing I don't see is tiny words that are far away. But I can see all objects, I'd never need them in boxing.
Not calling you a liar but your vision is not that bad because that's my prescription and I can see **** all in front of me, you will not be able to see objects in front of you. I would not be able to get to the gym without my lenses in both walking and driving so I don't know how you can say you can see all objects in front of you
It is that bad, at least in my right eye. My left eye is a little better, but I've never had problems seeing objects. Never used my glasses or contacts before.
I wear contacts when I spar, can't see anything without them, and it's never really been a problem. Every now and then they'll fall out but if you put re-wetting drops in before you spar it helps a lot. The dryer your eyes are the more likely they'll fall out in my experience. I'm not good so am usually getting punched in the face a good amount during sparring and it's not an issue.
i wear contacts during sparring for a long llng time. never really been an issue had one knocked ot a few times. i had mine knocked out in the first round of my fight and fought the rest with one contact in and did fine lol idk, i think its best not to box with them if you can avoid it becase they can seem inconviniant when they get knocked out but if you must, it is allowed.
You can lose a contact from a blow easy enough, I've had it happen but it was from a kick and not a punch but big deal, you just do your best and replace the lense when you can. One thing though, when you are working out and you are sweating your eyes tend to dry out a bit too believe it or not, that's when you're most likely to lose a lense. That laser surgery stuff is worse, you definitely can't box with that as the only thing holding the transparent layer over your eye on is a bit of weak scar tissue.
banning contact lenses??? the most stupid thing i've ever heard. Mine are a gel soft lens, replaced weekly. they are cleaned every day to prevent infection and irritation. this is done by practically everyone who wears them. if theyre banned at your gym the man who makes the rules is a ****ing idiot
