Sure, why not it would be great.
But how about giving rematch to Gonzales first,
who was 5-1 ahead on the scorecards before the body stopage.

Yeah before the stoppage. :yep He could be ahead of the scorecards 11-0 but if the fight was stopped at the 12th round . . . he still loses.

    Live by it . . . this is boxing.:good

11-0 with stopage at the 12th looks like the schooling vs a lucky punch
What makes Gerry to think he should get rematch with De Leon before giving his own rematch to Gonzales?
    Double standards?

You have point, but did you see the scorecards before the liver shot? They were quite close on the two male judges, 58-56 and 57-57, cj ross had it 59-55, and it was too early too say..

So you more like to see the rematch with Leon or Gonzales?
    Both fights would be good.

I was there at the arena I had Gonzalez winning 4-2 at the time of the stoppage, he was winning the 7th as well. Gonzalez had the fight in complete control, it was a shocking ending; Penalosa needed to do something dramactic and he did.

i think gerry won the first round. nothing more. but then bang and it's over. the thing is johnny got careless with his punches. he threw a careless right and totally missed exposing the side of his body for gerry. that's a no-no against a seasoned pro

I gave Gerry the 1st and 3rd(although the 3rd could easily have gone Gonzales way). Every other round Gonzalez won clearly, he was starting to pull away when he got caught. I think Lewis was right when he said that having to lose 12 pound from 130 to 118, hurt Gonzalez; that doesnt seem like a lot of weight but at the lower weights thats a lot to lose. I have to imagine that being weight-drained had something to do with him not having the energry to get up, not taking anything away from Penalosa's win.

johnny is a tall guy and i think 118 is the lowest he could possibly go. i think roach knew all along that they should attack the body because of the weight issue. do you know how many days before the fights was johnny at 130?

some of penalosa's previous KO victories were also by a body shot. he does have that weapon. he uses it more often now since he is already 35 so he throws less punches than before but chooses them well. imo, he is the best tactical boxer and counter-puncher the philippines has ever produced. the guy has never been ko'd and kd'd in his entire career. he definitely deserves credit for beating a young, great champion (gonzales) and winning another belt after 10 years.
