Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me? I am starting White Cuff Boxing within the next week which I am sure you all know what it means. I have a fight in 10 days and need to know the basics can anyone help or point me in the right direction?
I think your a nutter having a fight on such short notice as a beginner. buy 2 books ASAP from author Gary Todd, Boxing's Greatest Workouts and the sequel. This will give you an idea of what the Pro world champions do everyday. start watching boxing on youtube the greatest world champions of all time start at the top with your study. you need to get to a boxing gym right away get help from the head coach or chief second whatever tell them you have a fight in 10 days they may not help you as it is not a good idea fighting without being really ready. for example a young person with potential should probably not have his first fight for 6 months of hard training learning and sparring. When he is very ready then fight. should always be the top coaches decision when your ready to fight. some common training the world champs have in common is Training - Roadwork hitting the heavy bag shadow boxing with 16oz gloves on Speed ball floor to ceiling ball push ups sit ups leg raises sparring 2- 4 times per week as you are out of time and need to learn now full body stretch do all these every day, Sunday off slowly build up your training volume a little more each day except for the day before the fight have a half day of training. you may not be able to do all of the exercises right from day one but by the 4th day you will take it easy and slow and you might be able to get in survivable shape by fight night depending how good the other guy is. Lets hope he is a bum I am in no way recommending you take a fight under these circumstances
Going into the ring 10 days is crazy! Do you have any previous boxing experience? If not I would give this one a miss if I were you.
