Yep been reading about this for awhile now. Great news. Hopefully it may help us find abit of talent that otherwise may not have come through. The other constructive plus points it gives kids can only help too, it is about time that more of our young uns got the chance of having some self respect.

Ive seen alot of rubbish talked about how boxing in schools is completely wrong, usually from gay assed liberals who would rather all our kids grow up gay than good decent folk.

As a student teacher at junior school I can say it is a great acheivment but it will still meet alot of frosty aggression from certain parts of the establishment.

It will teach them discipline. We never had boxing in our school on the curriculum. The only guy that made is was Nicky Cook and his older brother but they fought for other clubs outside of school. Im surprised Nicky kept it up as him and his brother used to get bullied a bit in school as they were only tiny :yep

Anyway to hell with the anti-boxing brigade. If these kids had boxing you wouldnt have half as many walking street aimlessly joining gangs and this general chav channel U culture. Boxing teaches discipline and camaradery nothing wrong there in my book. A few licks never hurt no one.

There is the possible outcome of little *******s merely being instructed on how better to hurt other children.....

I certainly do not oppose teaching boxing to youngsters though, aslong as discipline and respect is paramount.

I agree and I will be pushing it every chance I get. Boxing will have a huge impact on alot of kids who are heading the wrong way.

I have brought the subject up a few times in meetings only for boxing to decried has barbaric etc etc. Usually from the same people who do not believe sport should be competive in schools.

I quit a school because they banned competative sport and sports day. The situation was disgusting and I find myself in the minority as a teacher that believes in competative sport and the importance of boxing in schools.

Your a teacher? Wow people like you should get an OBE. I wouldnt do that job for all the money in the world. Kids are way too much for me to deal with these days. My philosphy is a simple one in regards to kids and discipline."Those who cant hear WILL FEEL!" Never did no harm to me.

Do not believe all the press. It is a great job. Sure some schools and kids will drive you mad. No way would I work inner city but most places are good. Teachers do an awful lot of complaining over nothing, I do not like alot of them so no wonder the kids dont either.

I do feel that the boxing programme is really important and will benefit so many young people. You find that the ones against it are the ones with the least knowledge and understanding of the sport. Alot of kids will gain from boxing in schools not just the wayward types. I will certainly be letting mine participate when they are old enough.
