Which prospect in 2018 has the most potential to become the next big thing. Comment and Vote.

Josh Taylor was actually my prospect of 2017 and what a year he had.. I reckon 2018 will be a bigger year for him so included him.

Dubois and Kelly. Kelly is easy to like. Dubois whether he realises it or not, has done his popularity a huge favour in publicly speaking about his dropping of AJ. Dubois will be put on a pedestal and will have more eyes on his climb up the ladder than any other HW prospect.

Junior Fa a HW from NZ is looking promising also.

Taylor is probably the closest to winning a title.

I'd hope to see Conlon monved a bit faster. A guy with his "amateur" experience in the WSB shouldn't need to be fighting too many 6 round fights. I would have thought, he'd be in world title contention by the end on this year, when he started out

Be interesting to see how Devin Haney does in his first step up on the 2nd.

Josh Kelly - Very talented, his style could prove problematic against a decent overhand happy pressure fighter.
Ryan Garcia - Okay, he's not the all that great, but I see a lot of potential.
Daniel Dubois - Garbage, he'll be KO'd soon.
Anthony Yarde - Garbage, he'll be KO'd soon.
Joshua Buatsi - Skilled, enjoyable style, if he has a decent chin, he may win a Brit title, maybe Euro.
Josh Taylor - Brilliant. Best of the Best, he's not even a prospect anymore.
Zelfa Barrett - Sloppy, average, Euro level at best, reminds me of Tyrone Nurse, and that's not good.
Shakur Stevenson - Very talented, but needs to be moved very slowly, he's too featherfisted to risk yet.
Michael Conlan - Good, a little overrated, I have a feeling he's packing glass like Jamie, but luckily he more skilled.

Shakur Stevenson is the guy that's impressed me the most so far. But he probably lacks real power so may struggle to get peoples attention with just his stylish boxing.

I'm not convinced Taylor is anything other than a good fighter, he lacks anything special that makes him stand out for me. Unless he's like a Froch who had intangibles by the truck load. But with Crawford moving up I don't see any one who is a stand out talent either in the division. So I expect him to pick up one of Crawford's vacated belts if Crawford stays at welter.

Josh Kelly and Dubois are the most exciting young prospects for sure, doesn't mean they are the best though. Dubois looks good just steam rolling guys and blasting them out but he's yet to face any adversity and I wonder how he does when someone throws back.

Kelly with his style looks very exciting and with his looks a star in the making, question is will he be another Naseem Hamed or another Ryan Rhodes. Flashy works looks great if you can keep doing it at world level, if you can't then it just becomes a huge weakness better fighters exploit.

Quite strange that you don't see anything special in Taylor. He looks the best of that bunch by quite some distance imo and has been proving it vs tougher opposition. He seems to have it all. He was by far the best prospect of 2017 but he's not a prospect any more so wouldn't have added him to the 2018 lot.

I agree with you 100% on Kelly.

Kanat Islam is one name which stands out. Excellent hand speed, explosive, good power and fights like a predator hunting his prey. Also Evgeny Romanov looks brilliant so far, has excellent power, speed, precision to his punches and some sick amateur experience(400 fights) I think this will be his breakout year, hope to see him step up this year. And Alexey Egorov had great amateur pedigree and is showing the same in pro ranks, so he is another who I rate highly. Egorov never takes a step back and never hangs on the ropes, also he connects well with his punches and has a great work rate.
