At the end of the day, top fighters are extremely overpaid. That's why this fight hasn't happened. It's not about drug tests, dates, promoters, or anything else. Both consider themself the better man right now. They both get to tell their fans, and friends "man if that ***** would fight me i'd kill him". If they actually fight, then they know one of them will no longer be able to say that.

They already have millions. There is not one single item they can't buy now, that this fight will allow them to have. They will get their 40 million dollars, and their quality of life won't change. Sure it will allow them to maintain that quality for much longer. They don't think long term; not many boxers do.

They would rather have the chance to say "i'm the best in the world" and not have to actually find out if it's true. That means more to them than the money, because they already have the money.

Very true Willcross. Its like the old saying: "Its hard to get up and train, when your sleeping in silk pajamas".

Its true, ego ends up playing a huge part in fights not being made. If i can say i'm the best and people believe me, why go prove it. i can just say it and feel good about myself. Too much politics as well, too many hands in the pot.

Say what you want but Don king had a way of making these types of mega fights happen......CONSISTANTLY. Regardless of what the fighters did or didnt get paid, we got to see the big fights.

Different era now i guess. For whatever reason, potentially, the BIGGEST FIGHT OF OUR GENERATION CANT BE MADE......and it sucks

Yeah I just hope it's not a trend. It's pretty much the same thing that hung up Jones vs Hopkins 2 in my opinion.
