Leonard/Hagler

Morales/Barrera

DLH/Mayorga

Should be the top 3 in terms of high profile grudge matches. They all hated one another with deep passions.

 

More hate between Duran and SRL than SRL and Hagler IMO.

 

Hm I'm not sure about that one at all. Hagler and Leonard hated each other with deep passions, well it was more Hagler towards Leonard but you can tell, Leonard never liked him at all.

Duran was just being Duran... a cold blooded **** but I'm not sure they ever "hated" one another. :think

Remember the Baltimore convention back in 82 was it? How Leonard invited Hagler and he/everyone thought Leonard was going to take that fight and just disappointed everyone at the end.

Hagler never ever forgot that.

They still dislike each other nearing 3 decades after their fight.

 

Marvin definitely disliked Ray but I never got the sense that Leonard had real dislike for Marvin. But Ray HATED Duran after all the smack talk about his wife. And Roberto clearly had zero respect for Ray and thought he was a pretty boy who was being spoon fed huge money that he hadn't earned.

 

You might be right, it's probably not on the level of a Morales/Barrera.

But I'm not sure Duran and Leonard had legitimate hatred for one another, it was pretty much all talk.

Maybe if Duran had trash talked Ray's son.

 

I think going into their fights there was more dislike between Duran/Leonard but it dissipated over the years. I thought there was less animosity leading up to SRL/Hagler but more in the aftermath and it seems to have stood the test of time

So we may both be right in a way.:thumbsup
