Yeah, JJ was unique..more devastating, picturesque classic one punch knockouts than anyone I can remember..definitely a harder hitter than Mugabi, IMO.

Ron Lyle and Muhammad Ali disagree about Foreman being the hardest hitter. Both said Shavers hit harder.

  7. WELL, I AGREE ABOUT IT:good IT IS A DEBATE

  8. bill.
I know the words of ali and lyle. But the words are words... Ali was much better in 1974 than he was in 1977, ali never took the best shot of george in the face, and the took the best shot from shavers in1977 and shavers could not even put ali down. Ali in 1977 was finished, a complete shot, very weak. Well, lyle took the shots from shavers but foreman knocked him out. Ali said tons of things... Dempsey was a joke, i would knock louis out, frazier was a gorilla..

Anyway i think that it was close with the right hand, but george was harder puncher with the left, and was much more durable, much stronger, much bigger, he had much better chin and he was much better fighter. I pick foreman in power terms , hands down. THE HITTING POWER OF SHAVERS IS OVERRATED, BASING ON WORDS...

    Hearns, Shavers, Lennox.

Marcianos against Walcott and Tysons right hand against Spinks (the one that made him fly backwards, bang his head on the floor and his eyes roll around his head)

Ali took more flush shots against shavers then any of the other big hitters including Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Lyle etc so that probably explains his thoughts on Shavers

    Maybe Sandy Saddler ?
    p4p....

  13. yes, every fight is different, basing on the styles... i think that ali never took the best shots from liston or foreman, when he took the best left hook from frazier he was down, simple. shavers never could kock down a pathetic version of ali in 1977. and shavers did hit ali with his best right hand.(it prove that ali had much better chin than holmes). the hitting power of shavers is overrated, of course his %ko was great like the %ko of george, shavers was a very hard puncher, no doubt about it, but his hitting power is a bit overrated basing on words..
