boxing looks like it has no general provisions which it stops a fight because of a cut. thats because it doesn't. boxing looks bush league stopping a WBC World Heavyweight title fight because of a cut in which the corner was not even allowed the in between round to stop it. an undefeated challengers title hopes dashed in a second because of some moron ref who has never seen blood apparently during a fight now compare it with a recent "non title" heavyweight fight in the UFC...the fight wsnt stopped on a cut, but on a tko from strikes eventually This content is protected This content is protected
sorry man, but you should learn more about boxing before you post. that being said . . . . WARR CHARR!!!
That may have been a bad decision on the part of the ref, but it's not about the blood. Never has been. And it doesn't need to be regardless of what the UFC allows.
LMFAO at this morron who thinks the amount of blood lost is the main reason fights get stopped LO ****ing L. Fights are stopped on cuts when there is risk of permanent damage to a fighter's occular muscles. That is the main reason cuts stop fights. That is consistent in both sports. The amount of blood lost is largely a secondary issue because a good cut man with the right drugs in either sport can stop a cut from bleeding in a round or two. Judging by the amount of blood on that guy's face its a cut on his forehead that is causing all the bleeding. Its no where near the eye. Therefore there's no reason to stop the fight. Nice attempted a wind-up thread though dude....just don't forget to leave the troll cave every once in a while to see how normal people get a long:good
Its ridiculous to stop a fight based on a cut without the fighters consent. It should be completely up to him, if he wants to risk his oculars so be it. Edit: I take back my original statement. Fighters are too prideful to quit because of a cut. Too many fighters careers would be cut short. Its a good call by the refs. MMA refs need to start ending fights sooner for blood.
