Arguello, Gatti, and Forrest all dying in that short time period in 2009 was rather depressing. I wasn’t surprised when I heard Arguello committed suicide because I had read numerous articles about his depression and being close to suicide before, but there’s been talk about it being a murder due to politics. He had won a mayoral election in Managua a few months before and there was a bunch of speculation about voting corruption. 48 Hours did a good documentary on Gatti’s death. It showed both sides: the suspicions people had of his wife, while other friends and family talking about Gatti’s mental health struggles. I’ve always hated the idiot argument though that Gatti’s heart in the ring meant he couldn’t have killed himself. That argument is illogical and beyond stupid.
Here's one: Tyson Fury and Mark Breland conspired together to rob Deontay Wilder of his WBC title. They poisoned his drinking water, and left a very heavy costume in Deontay's dressing room, so he would wear it to the ring and it would weaken his legs before the fight.
Fritzie Zivic bought out Charley Burley's contract so that he wouldn't have to fight him. Zivic had the title and Burley had the wood over him. Zivic was notoriously fearless but it's possible that he didn't want the problem. That's probably my favourite.
Ali lost on purpose? nah,,watch the 15th round and see if that's a guy losing on purpose. That was just a cherry pick gone wrong. Ali Liston II? ,that was the most obviously thrown fight in major boxing history
One that made the rounds ages ago, Don King poisoned Wlad before the Brewster fight The K fans went nuts with that one!!
It's ridiculous. I couldn't believe what I was watching, I've never seen anything look so fixed. Looking at the comments of the full fight on DAZN YouTube makes me really question the intelligence of the general population.. Weirdly the comments on the full fight on Sky Sports are a little more skeptical of the fight..
