Why do they bother? Sky have nothing scheduled for the rest of August and just looked through BoxRec and its very sp**** Until Leo Santa Cruz vs Abner Mares 29th August.

It frustrates me, boxers don't need an excuse to take time off they have loads between fights its not like leagues have to be changed and business done.. why do they have it? :patsch I want more boxing not less!!

Yeah its ridiculous. I understand the break in January with fighters wanting time off over Xmas but the august break is a joke. A fighter can take a month or 2 off when ever he wants. There is absolutely no need for all of them to take the same month off. I hate august.

On the other side of the pond it isnt much different. HBO's schedule is pretty much empty until october, showtime's next relevant fight is Mayweather's , with no confirmed opponent as of yet and quite possibly PPV. PBC will show Cunnigham-Tarver and Bute-DiLuisa in mid august, but those are highly unattractive fights. I dont think we have to blame the fighters but the promoters for this situation, I dont know if tv channells are to blame too. Virtually 4 weekends without any meaningful boxing. And its been happenning for quite a few years.

Even if you do train '24/7'; your training cannot be that intense if you have managed post over 100 times in less than a month here.

Also, although no expert, I suspect you will benefit from sleeping/resting as well as training...

Think it is what TV must want more than anything? Why that is no idea as summer sport brings the crowds out.

No idea why as boxing here in the UK especially on outdoor shows has decent attendances, last night being a good example.
