    News paper article from 1937:
Jack Dempsey knows his own game. When he says boxing will be washed up within a year, unless something's done, he's talking straight from his heart. "It isn't boxing anymore, he complains, "but just a big lawsuit."
Still, when Jack thinks the evils of his former occupation can be cleaned up by appointing a czar-someone like judge landis, who runs organised baseball, there is room for doubt

But if you had asked her 5 years ago who Manny Pacquiao was she wouldn't even know he was a boxer. Point being, the Broners and Nonitos will eventually be the ones in the spotlight, the ones that catch the edge of the mainstream. It happens every time.

Having a competitive HW division with at least 1 or 2 quality Americans would help, since the US has always been obsessed with heavyweights. Unfortunately, we're still years away from seeing that, if ever.

    ^this is correct.

also, let's not say boxing is alive and well in the U.S. until boxing is on CBS or NBC or ABC .. REGULARLY.

after that crappy decision from the Adamek-Cunningham rematch, I wouldn't be surprised if NBC is reluctant to show boxing on its regular network again

Ratings are all that matter. UFC on FOX 2 had a horrible decision too but nobody cared.

For the sake of the future of the sport, Canelo Alvarez should not fight Trout.

Canelo should be built up like the next Oscar De La Hoya and become a real household name.
