A very fine article :- http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/th...2473703.0.Shameful_racism_of_boxings_past.php
No doubt Molineux suffered racist abuse but the rest take with a pinch of salt. 200 years ago boxing was an incredibly crude affair with very little of todays finesse; this has probably been romanticized a little bit - especially as its from 3rd party evidence. None the less a great read and thanks for posting it! :smooch
i think racism still exists in boxing today but not as blatant as in the past. maybe when certain boxers don't ever get their due credit for their many accomplishments from some sectors of the boxing press and some fans alike. you have to wonder if racism does factor into it. i guess racism whether it's in boxing or daily life will never be completely eradicated. ppl will always have their certain prejudices and complexes when dealing w/ other ppl different from them.
there was a great article in the december issue of the ring called the colour of boxing about rasicsim in boxing today well worth the read
he aint racist he just doesnt like the black style of fighting he clearly likes plenty of black fighters maybe not mayweather but plenty of people blacks included dont like mayweather
