These figures mean nothing. Please remember that start ups require initial investment which is essentially loaned to the business usually by the directors. These loans are treated as liabilities to the company. The directors may also be drawing a salary. There are many ways to produce accounts and I guarantee you that most are produced to show the least profitability. Why? Because it means less tax to pay.
That's what I remember. So these numbers appear to be from the first two months of subscription, and costs before that when they were free. Start-up costs? So yeah, they could well mean **** all as you say.
Forget any figures and just be sure that Boxnation is going to go bust whether it is next week, next month, next year or whenever. It will be put into a blackhole by people who have a history of collapsing companies to avoid paying debts before they re-emerge under a different company name with not a **** stain besmirching their pin stripe suits. Buncey can you come back for a second and talk us through Ricky and Nathan's career plans please?
People wanting boxnation to fail will be moanin they av to watch overseas fights on shitty streams If it was hearn behind a new station would they want it to go tits up
Lots of good posts above, I particularly like sniffmybadger's line about the channel needing to be avaiulable on Freeview, never a truer word spoken. I have the channel (it's playing in the background now), I don't live in this country very much but keep the £10 payment going so I can watch when I'm in the UK (now for a few days) and so my brother in law can come and watch when I'm not here. I don't understand the hate, £10 is a small sacrifice (any smokers on here could cut down to make the money, drinkers too), a small sacrifice for a dedicated boxing channel. I dare say some of the naysayers will be pissed off if Boxnation does go under. It, for me, has nothing to do with the w.a..e.n running it, no I don't like the man, but **** I'm glad he's putting boxing on my TV. Let's hope it lasts.
If I'd not sent Sky back because I was hardly watching it, I still wouldn't buy Boxnation. I'll openly admit it's because of the man behind it, I hate him with a passion. But.... at least I'll admit it. A tenner a month isn't any great sacrifice. It's the same with Leeds United home matches, now that Bates is no longer the owner I'll probably start going. It's been a long seven years waiting for him to depart.
As long as you have a Sky box and a dish you can get Boxnation. I have a box and a dish but no subscription. The Sky box serves one purpose, to use as a platform for Boxnation
The issue BoxNation has is it's impossible for them to create new stars in boxing. The talent they've got doesn't get exposure from outlets like Sky Sports News and even if casual fans were aware of these fighters, they aren't going to pay a subscription fee for months just so they can a fighter they've heard of. It's not going to happen. If Burns and Cleverly were on Sky, they'd be pretty big attractions, especially Burns, but as it is, neither is a ticket seller in the slightest. Cleverly can't sell out in his home town and Burns can only sell a few thousand tickets in Scotland. It's nowhere near what two world champions should be getting and it's because casual fans, the ones who make up the majority of ticket sales, aren't aware of these fighters. Exposure is crucial and yet BoxNation has none. They don't have a marquee attraction who can get casual supporters to subscribe, like Ricky Hatton, and they don't get the media attention to create new attractions. This is an issue for them in getting new subscribers, in selling tickets at venues, in bringing in advertising money and in creating new stars years down the line. Further more, why would any decent prospect sign with Frank in the future when they know that they risk not being paid and there is no potential for them to make big money, no matter how good they are? Even if they get to be a world champion like Burns, they still aren't going to be making the money they should, which is why a ****ing world champion still feels he has to work at JJB. BoxNation could work if the channel got exposure but that isn't the case.
Boxnation is bollocks. its got 2 months to show a decent card or I will be cancelling my subsription in the new year. I pay £10 per month for a channel I watch about once per month at the moment.
for me it was never about the price. I would pay £25 a month for a boxing channel if it was put together properly. I am in the states now. Compare it to the UFC channel, which is part of the sports package subscription, and theres a world of difference. The production values on BN are laughable.
