Boxnation (HD and commentary)

I'm sure the HD is supposed to be coming before the end of the year.

In regards to the commentary I think when they pick up the shows abroad to save money they don't send their own commentators or cameras. This means they can get the shows at the last minute without having to pay too much and their overheads will be much lower.

I agree about the commentary, I just couldn't take the commentary seriously Saturday the guy's voice was nippy!!

 

August was the word in the emails I saw.

 

American commentary through red button would be a nice addition, HD I'm not too fussed about, I still watch grainy 50's footage and enjoy it so no complaints with SD over here.

 

for the card last weekend it would have been better to do the comm off the tv pictures with the usual commentators like they do for a german card

i prefer that on the american cards aswell

 

I like the commentators provided by the network
South Africans are odd at first but they know their stuff to be fair

 

For Golden Boy and Top Rank cards, the feeds they distribute worldwide have their own in house commentary team, hence why you don't get the HBO or Showtime commentators

He is a ex boxer and I like their commentary

 

Is HBO's commentary team that great anyway? They're as guilty of overhyping fighters and being biased as anyone.

BoxNation's in-house team of Rawling/that other guy plus Enzo/Barry/Smith and Channel 5's when they have Al Bernstein on are the only two I generally like.

I am quite happy without HD,especially at ten quid per month........surely for HD price will go up?

 

Two channels would likely be used- the price would likely go up.

 

Any further news on the HD channel, FW commented in an interview in late March that they were looking in 5 months time which is fast approaching?
