The two can be compared but there's very little comparison. Sky Sports is a sports channel and shows a wide range, from boxing, to football, to cricket etc.. BoxNation is a boxing channel and only shows that. As channels, it isn't even close. Sky Sports is a million miles ahead of BoxNation but it's apples and oranges. They are two different channels with two different objectives and two different markets to target. There aren't really any comparisons, aside form the fact they're both TV channels but nobody would try to compare a Ferrari with a 4x4 or a yacht with a canoe. Comparing Sky to BoxNation is just as asinine as that, and the only comparisons are equally flimsy and pointless. Comparing Hearn and Frank - who are each channels sole British boxing promoter - is the only interesting comparison to be made. If you think that's cherry picking, that's fine, but at least it's a decent, relevant discussion.
Boxnation. Sky: Only promotes their products, has very little boxing on their channel, they are bias, ruin sports and marginalise the audience, and condition the viewers into thinking sports evolves around sky sports news and that's it.
BoxNation, in terms of sports programming is very much my sanctuary after a bad defeat for either Chelsea or Watford. Plus, the fights seem to be constantly on repeat on BoxNation, and the big fights from America and Europe tend to be on BN as well
I have had sky for donkeys years......enjoyed many ppv and big fights, but I sense that sky,s commitment to boxing has weakened over the years. In my opinion relying on one promoter a very bad move(although absolutely nothing against Mr H snr or jnr )But what is not to like about BN and don't care about HD thought it was about spit and sawdust anyway........for less than two packs of ***s per month. Will watch any channel that shows boxing.I think the acid test at the moment is that on balance I would miss BN at the moment more than Sky for boxing.
