#BoxNation announces partnership with @nuts_official , who will now provide ring girls at Frank ****** Promotions shows! #RingGirls #boxing http://twitter.com/boxnationtv/status/245886679049699328 An important step forward no doubt. Get them topless!
I'm probably gonna be **** on from heights far exceeding mount everest's peek, but seriously why do we need ring girls? The make our sport seem so ****in tacky & cheap! They always look totally out of place and lost in the ring. Get rid of em.
I actually agree with you mate :good I like the female form as much as the next person, but I have noticed a general trend over the last two to three years of the ladies dressing more and more 'slutty'. Some of the girls on the Boxnation shows, and the Prizefighters, wear so little that I think it cheapens the look rather than glamourises it. Bring on the disproportionate criticism.............
I won't complain. But I do agree it seems to cheapen it for purists, but it is a show after all. Less is more for some. i remember some popstar was doing a photoshoot or something with all these lingerie models while she was fully dressed. Everyone said she had way more sex appeal.
:deal Well said. I remember FW used to use the same two girls at nearly all his shows through the latter half of the nineties and the early 'noughties'........ A blonde and a brunette, both lookers, and both always dressed in lovely, and clearly expensive, evening dresses. Plenty of cleavage, body shape clearly visible, and definitely a case of less is more:good
Its not just a fight, its boxing. It is a sport with an incredibly vibrant and fascinating history, possibly the most interesting and socailly relevant of any sport (but then again I am biased). I accept that its not all got to be black tie and evening dress, but then again it has a public image to maintain and it is important that it appeals to the masses in order to secure its future. You don't see women, dressed in what basically amounts to underwear, parading around football pitches, tennis courts or on snooker tables before an event, so why do it with boxing? I just think if you go too far it cheapens the sport and we really don't need to be doing that in the current climate IMO.
Formula 1 has put pretty women on display. Maybe not as slutty as in boxing, but still. Also, "trash talking" of the kind we see in boxing would be unthinkable in snooker or tennis. Should we stop that in case it's considered distasteful by a family audience? Do we ban the corners from swearing because that could offend the audience?
