Boxnation presenters are a bunch of sycophants and 'yes' men.

With Sky you would get a 2 hour show and no Huck vs Povetkin. (We got one good competitive fight at least.)

It was a soft defence for Cleverly which is what was expected when the fight was announced.

Are F.W.'s fellow promoters really any better? Are Sky shows so great? Recently, F.W. has given us Cleverly vs Bellew, Degale vs Groves, Burns vs Katsidis and Mitchell vs Murray. Pretty good stuff.

We actually have reasonably good boxing coverage in the UK now thanks to BoxNation, and with Sky recently upping their game I guess they should share some credit.

£10 a month and people moan like anything. Seriously, go to the US and start paying for HBO and $55 PPV and see how you like that...

I agree that last night was the bad side of the channel being associated with the promoter but I thought last week the access you got to the Chisora camp was great and a real plus. Also think that Cleverly-Karpency (and maybe Mitchell-Lora) are the only bad match-ups they have put on for their fighters in 6 months so far so I think there are far more positives than negatives.

While I will agree that Boxnation has improved and is worth the money overall, Its Fwanks matchmaking that is the problem, Im starting to resent giving him my £10, all I want is competitive fights, not this all this bollocks where you know the winner from the start, that's not a lot to ask for.

One-sided but the opponent kept it entertaining imo.

Honestly though, Cleverley-Karpency aside has the match making been that bad?

And I can excuse it because it was a setup for the Burns fight

No your right it hasn't been, providing Fwank matches his inhouse fighters together, Burns v Katsidis aside which was good and risky matchmaking, but history tells you Fwank makes **** fights and seems to be reverting back to type?

Can't say the matchmaking on Boxnation is any worse than what Sky are/ were coming up with....

No I totally agree there Gaz, although It remains to be seen which one gets better or worse? I think Eddie Hearn is a more aggressive matchmaker and he listens to fans a bit more which bodes well for Sky, Fwank is Fwank at the end of the day, which is why Im a bit dubious with Boxnation.

Yeah, Frank ain't going to change esp. as he now does his own TV quality control. Still a tenner well spent most months on balance though IMHO.

Yeah its worth the £10 just for the international content, I just hope to see the British cards improve or stay at a solid level, I don't mind if the Karpency type of fights if its only now and again, which in fairness to Boxnation it's the first really crap fight I can think of?

  12. What's always been my gripe is when we see crap imports being brought in (like Karpency) for Commonwealth and European titles, when there is a suitable domestic name available that would surely take the fight.

This is where Sky have always fallen short IMO. If there's a good foreign opponent, great, but there should at least be someone that says ''no, we're not paying for that'', which means the promoter either has to stage the show minus TV or get a better opponent.

I could think of loads of examples since I started watching regularly six or seven years ago. The phrase ''**** or get off the pot'' springs to mind.

It would be great if a foreign fighter like a Katsidis wanted to base himself here, with his crowd pleasing style etc he could have been a star. Fun to watch, English speaking and an engaging personality.

People aren't going to buy into ''his dad was in the same class as Azumah Nelson'' ffs.

Im enjoying BoxNation myself. Never rated Cleverly anyway and like others Povetkin v Huck was the main event for me last night. When that was over i watched Clev out of habit more than anything else and changed the channel after round 5.
I don't know what people are expecting for a tenner. Im really enjoying seeing the undercards as well. Makes the evening more of an event.

What Fwank needs to do is realise that a lot of people switched sides and stopped watching the fight, myself included, that is not what you want when running a tv channel, any which way you look at it.
Again as long as its not a regular thing, I can forgive it now and again but sadly history is not on Fwank's side.

I honestly attempted to watch this sparring session on "Epix" but changed the channel after round 6 and came back to it in round 11.I gather I didn't miss a thing. It has put me off Clev and I actually thought he was better than this.
    I was wrong.
