I’ve copied and pasted my reply on another post. There’s a full page BT Sports advert on the back of today’s London Evening Standard, which quotes..... ‘Tyson’s Fury’s comback fight on June 9th is only on BT Sport with more top fighters exclusively live from the autumn’ Then there’s pictures of Dubois, BJS, Frampton, Warrington and Fury. Then in the small print it says that with the exception of Fury the fighters are on both BN and BT until Oct 1st, then they’ll be exclusive to BT Sport.... Sounds like BN is winding down to me.
Shame really, I’ve been with BN from day 1, I don’t have Sky Sports or BT Sports, but am thinking I will now need to subscribe to BT going forward.
It’s a shame if it goes Competley, especially with the overseas stuff but it’s served its purpose really and frank has done well to hang on in there with it until he was able to secure the BT deal. I think he mentioned it’s 5 years, so it’s the security that he needed. Hopefully he will have even more financial muscle to secure some major events.
It makes sense, why bother with Boxnation if you have a platform to rival Sky with BT. Thats assuming FW has signed or will sign a long term exclusive deal with BT.
So basically Frank was using the late Bill Ives and Family to bankroll him (keep him in business) until he got a long term contract with a tv network. All the this is the future, don't want to be reliant on a network was nonsense.
Everyone should cancel their BN now. Other than Loma - Linares you’re not getting much for your money until October! Everything British you can get in BT anyway. You’re only going to lose a few late night/early morning US shows.
And probably nothing after October too, now those five will be exclusive to BT, who is the remaining 'star name'....Yarde? I'm not owed anything by BN, I have subscribed since day one, but that is my choice. I am a little sad though that by and large, all the domestic content has been shifted off the channel. I probably will end up getting BT Sport, so I can get the boxing, and also the football content, but at the moment, BN is my only paid for sports channel.
Pro Punter predicted that Boxnation would cease to exist with BT taking the boxing content approx 3 years ago. Thought he would be back on here posting with this breaking news.
