I have just been looking into getting Boxnation as this weekends unification fight is pretty appealing and Sky have not been delivering on my regular boxing fix lately. I looked at boxnation's Schedule for the next 5 weekends then looked at sky's. 13th April Nonito Donaire vs Guillermo Rigondeaux 20th April Nathan Cleverly vs Robin Krasniqi Dereck Chisora vs Hector Alfredo Avila Liam Walsh vs Scott Harrison Austin Trout vs Saul Alvarez 27th April Amir Khan vs Julio Diaz Deontay Wilder vs Audley Harrison Sergio Martinez vs Martin Murray David Saucedo vs Gary Buckland 4th May Floyd Mayweather vs Robert Guerrero Daniel Ponce De Leon vs Abner Mares Sky in the same period Brian Rose Vs Joachim Alcline Now I am not posting this with any kind of agenda I don't despise FW like some do on here but I have been reluctant to subscribe to boxnation as I resented paying extra money on top of my sky sports subscription for boxing when in previous years I have been very happy with Sky's coverage but I think its time to face facts Sky are now looking at boxing as a bonus for people who subscribe for others sports and no longer catering to true boxing fans. I won't be cancelling my sky subscription as I watch other sports and will still enjoy the once/twice a month Matchroom shows but only a blind man wouldn't be able to see where boxing fans should be heading, I have just subscribed on line and am buzzing to wake up sunday morning and watch the previous nights big fight!
Someone Delete the ****er then, I looked down the list and didn't see anything about the current schedules. I merely wanted to discuss my new purchase with some fellow boxing fans.
It's true though, Sky is full of over hyped boxers like Bellew and Barker who won't even win alphabet belts let alone become world number 1. Their last 2 shows have been boring.
Boxnation does have better international cards but people seem to forget that Sky also had this until Boxnation came along and started outbidding them.
Sky used to show the really big international cards but never showed much interest in showing the "second tier" stuff even when they had the market to themselves.
Understandable that promoters should be having their people posting on forums like this. Where's the subtlety though?! Otherwise just be up front!
What were Sky showing in recent times? They used to have Klitschko fights, but they weren't showing much stuff from America. If Sky wanted American cards, then I'm pretty sure they could compete with BoxNation!
A TV thread not started by me hahaha. On a serious note I think the Paul Williams v Kermit Cintron fight was one of the final straws for Sky. I remember staying up until 4 in the morning to see Cintron fall through the ropes.
