I wish referees still did this today. Back in the old days, if two guys played defense without seriously trying to land punches on each other, the ref would just stop the fight and send the two fighters home with a No Contest. The fighters would have to walk through the crowd, who would throw food and drinks at them while booing and yelling. Here are some examples from boxrec involving famous fighters - just look at the No Contests: http://boxrec.com/boxer/10585 http://boxrec.com/boxer/9046 http://boxrec.com/boxer/11023 In the Sam Langford vs Jack Thompson fight, not only was the fight stopped in the 6th, but both fighters were fined 500 dollars for stalling. If referees acted that way in our era, how many of Floyd Mayweather's "wins" would have been declared No Contests? Probably the Pacquiao fight, and certainly the Baldomir fight. I haven't watched many of Floyd's fights (because I'm not a masochistic gаy nut-hugger), but I'll bet my house that there are many other actionless fights on his resume.:thumbsup
Dude Floyd was never inactive in any round not the 12th round. He back down all of his opponents, even Pacquiao and Canelo. Do you want me to post the videos or just tell you the rounds where he walked down every opponent he has ever fought?
If you admit you haven't watched his fights then why not watch them and see for yourself instead of just being a part of the bull****
Don't even bother. If he had any real interest at all he would have already watched at least a few fights
Mayweather isn't one to take chances, but he keeps busy enough where none of his fights would have been declared no contest for lack of action. Tua vs Lewis is one where it comes close, but definitely Byrd vs Williamson would have been put to a halt within a few rounds. Both fighters did nothing but jab from long distance and missing the other completely. The jabs were whiffing nothing but air.
I have watched about 15 of Floyd's fights, and that's enough for any non-gаy man to understand that he is the most boring fighter in history. Don't get me wrong: I fully understand that Floyd is a handsome man and is attractive to certain guys, but I'm only attracted to women.
You're right if you're talking about lightweight Mayweather. But welterweight and superwelterweight Floyd usually runs scared. He wasn't even aggressive against Marquez, who moved up two weight classes to fight him.
He knocked him down and countered him for 12 rounds straight. It was a blowout. In round 4 and 5 of May vs Pac he walked down Manny and had him on the back foot. He almost knocked out ODLH, Mosley and Cotto. Never missed hitting Ortiz, backed down Maidana in the first fight, made Canelo quit after the 7th round basically, clowned Berto....what more do you think he could do?:huh
If you find him attractive that's great for you there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise . I think You might be over compensating a little to aggressively here. I think a little more nuance would go a long way towards convincing people you are hetero
Mayweather was afraid to open up vs Marquez simply because he knows Marquez lands on him if you give him the chance to counter. Don't know what you're talking about when you say Canelo quit. Canelo won a handful of rounds late simply because Mayweather stopped fighting. If anybody quit in the fight it was Mayweather, he stopped fighting after about the 7th or 8th round.
Floyd LOST the first Maidana fight, so I don't know where you saw Floyd backing him down. I'm sure at a moment or two Maidana probably took a backward step - so what? The fight was a bad one for Floyd who got outbrawled. Oscar and Mosley almost being stopped by Floyd is really laughable. I can tell you're a big Floyd fan.
I wish referees and judges used no contests and draws more. But they won't, because that ****es off promoters and betters and whoever is a leech to the sport
Referees and judges ...we are a long way away from that amigo when NSAC say you're doing nothing wrong when being caught red handed doing illegal IV at home 14X over the limit you shouldn't even be doing in the first place anyway.
