And it does its job incredibly well. 10 out of 10. Amazingly good site, regardless of all that BS that they recently introduced about having to be registered to be able to read all the info. I just refuse to do so.

BoxRec's definitely the place to go, to see boxers' records. BoxRec doesn't usually give the year of birth or most Bare Knuckle fights, so I also use Cyber Boxing Zone, and even Wikipedia at times. I also have some Ring Record Books, as well as various other boxing books. Anybody know of any other good websites for records and details about the boxers?

Mostly correct, but I've seen some serious human ****ery going on with their math. Sometimes God reaches down into the machine, so to speak.

In the begining the algorithm was easy to understand, everyone could calculate it, it was same for all boxers, quite fair. Now there's no logical algorithm, not same for all boxers. One with 50 rating can beat someone with 50 and became 70, other with 50 rating can beat someone with rating 5 and became after that win 120.Like everything else, in the begining it's fair, until earning credibility, later only worse.

Most people just use BoxRec for dates and weights etc.

It’s a great site for that.

    I use it often myself.

Their rankings can’t in any way be taken seriously though.

It’s a points based algorithm which they use.

    It’s absolutely ridiculous.

They once had Joe Calzaghe ranked as the 7th best P4P boxer of all time.

Just use the site for the stats and the schedules, and ignore the rankings completely.

Seeing a guy like Callum Smith rated in the top 10 will just make you angry.

It’s better to just ignore it.

Boxrec's ratings are a living display of the problem with algorithms...they are garbage in, garbage out.

I think the sight is outstanding and the ratings are a good launching point for debate, but no, they do not nail it when weighing fighters.

Its alogirthm as the rating ot WBA, WBO, IBF and WBC is fair top 10 :) Just look for Canelo, Crawford and Davis gaining of points.Compare their wins over same opponents with other boxers, check how many points the others were awarded and you will see "the algorithm" : ))
