How the helll does Boxrec rank its fighters anyway? I remember when Calvin Brock was ranked number 1 in the world. What sense does t make to have Haye ranked above Povetkin when he has only had one fight at heavy?

This Haye is already bragging about having obtained a top 5 ranking in two organizations...without having even "returned" to the HW division.

It only figures that Boxing Rec would allow this...everyone should cry foul at Hayes skipping over everyone to get WLAD after Povetkin.

Boxrec rankings are computer calculated based on some point scoring system they have. Don't put so much stock into it. We all know Haye needs to prove himself in the real world at heavy.

Sure looks like that is what is happening, doesn't it?

I have really given Wlad a break since he got back in the Brew and beat Sultan. I have openly admitted that I was wrong about him. But if he skips over Povetkin....

This may or may not be true, but he has to prove it.

I want to see Haye become a big time player as much as anyone, but he cannot do it with his mouth.

So how does he get that many points after one heavyweight fight?

Bonin counts for more than wins over Byrd, Chambers, and Donald?

Obviously it takes his CW resume into account somehow.

Boxrec rankings are a joke, everyone knows it, now people need to stop making threads about it.

He's fighting Povetkin, I just take issue with Haye being next in line...there's plenty of guys who say they can beat Haye, and the guy only wants to fight someone everyone knows can't beat him.

Haye gives fighters a certain number of points based on who they have fought and how they have fared, and i think that when a fighter moves up in weight boxrec deducts a certain percentage of those points.

The points for rating purposes don't "reset" when moving up or down in weight class, they carry over. Certainly Bonin doesn't count for more than Byrd, Chambers, etc....thats just absurd.

    For reference...
