Well, I understand they put Margarito in their P4P list.(#9) But to make Cotto dissappear from the first 25 just because he lost to Margarito is unbelievable. They don't have Ivan Calderon there either. Are they running some kind of ANTI PUERTO RICAN website???? I mean look at their damn list. I can put Cotto and Calderon ahead of a few in that list:fire

I thought it was based on points, (MArgarito not having many big name wns before that, therefore not being worht many "points")and people from the site dont even touch it..

    Correct me if im wrong.

They have computerized rankings that aren't based on opinions but on some kind of point system that, indeed, is completely f***ing worthless.
Even so, boxrec IMO is a very useful site that provides a lot of info and i wouldn't wanna miss it.

And Pavlik as No.1, bearing in mind he has beaten a grand total of one decent opponent?

Cotto wasn't even in the top 15 prior to the Tony fight.

It offers points on the method of victory, not many for a SD or MD, a few more for a UD, and more for a TKO/KO.

This doesn't take into account lucky punches, fast counts, whether a fighter was dominating before being KO'd, dodgy SD's that should be UD's etc etc

They have boxers records. Thats ok. But how can you explain Cotto dissapearing from the first 25. They have Juan Diaz there. I mean, I like Juan Diaz, But I don't think he should be higher than Cotto. And where the hell is Ivan Calderon???? The guy is a master of the boxing science. Can't punch for ****. But he has some special skills

They still have Bernard Hopkins tops p4p even though he lost to Taylor and Calzaghe ... add to that he hasn't beaten anyone of note since DLH.

Didn't i already say that their ranking system is based on a point system and not on opinions, skills, potential or any of that ****? And didn't i also say it's a system that sucks ass completely?
Please be so kind to read and interpetrate my WHOLE post before responding to it, thank you.

When you say "they" who are you referring to? Theres no human element to the ratings besides the input of results. I agree they are poor though hence why the idea the IBO are some kind of revolutionary sanctioning body is utter nonsense.

Why would anyone go to boxrec for rankings?

You go there for research, not rankings.
