Mayweather was still in the process of becoming a cross over star, during the Hatton fight, after it? Was when he became the enigma that he is. David Haye is not a world wide cross over star. And he's not as big as Hatton was in the UK at the height if his career ether. Amir Khan is more of a cross over success than David Haye, he has over 1million followers on twitter. David Haye is a household name within Britain in terms of boxing, but he is not the cross over star that Frank Bruno was within Britain.
Mayweather was a no mark in Britain and Europe when he fought Hatton, he became a cross over star because of the Hatton fight. But I agree David Gaye is not a cross over star, he is a household name....but not a cross over star. Amir Khan is the biggest active British boxer.
Don't know who this young cub even is. Looks like he's from some **** hole in the desert. Bloke who runs fast. Yes a big name, IN SPORT. I'm giving you Hollywood superstars. You're giving me some **** who runs in circles. Terrorist celebratory. Yes. Just to rub salt in the wounds. Here is Britain most famous woman who you've likely heard a lot about this week. This John Shepherd ? http://www.doncaster.gov.uk/db/chamber/default.asp?Nav=Declaration&MemberID=293 Boxrec head office http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?rlz=1T4TEUA_en___GB461&q=25+Royal+Avenue+Doncaster+DN1+2LT&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x48790dd9d23044d5:0x9e62db5c401d9f3f,25+Royal+Ave,+Doncaster+DN1+2LT&gl=uk&sa=X&ei=XuvtT-3OE4-T0QW_q_z2DQ&ved=0CAkQ8gEwAA I think the principle of Boxrec is great but how can they be trusted to offer up unbiased archived records if they wont even recognise such a big domestic event.
I'm not going to say that boxrec is racist, but i really do have to question their perspective, or at least the perspective of some of their articles. So, most people probably know that Herbie Hide's on the comeback trail. What I found interesting was the way that boxrec has chosen to write about this, as opposed to another site. I have a short list of boxing sites that I visit and always find it interesting when there are clear differences in the gist of one article even though they're on the exact same topic. Boxrec - http://news.boxrec.com/news/2012/herbie-hide-mystery FighthypeUK - http://uk.fighthype.com/former-world...ing/#more-2495 The boxrec article, while having a lot of info., is completely fixated on the apparently self imposed obstacles that have kept Hide from reaching the heights. The fighthypeuk article, focuses more on the fact that the current cruiserweight division might have some opportunities for a man of his ability. Why such a massive difference in tone? Hide's probably f'd up more than his share, but I just felt that the boxrec article was just too negative and the rationale behind it seemed a bit petty for my taste, or simply dodgy.
