Boxrec now has Vitali as the #1 HW... what about you?

    Vitali has two dominant, back-to-back wins of a champion and a top contender, but i don't think that makes up for what Wlad has built up during the last several years. What do you think?

    Wlads done more but Vitali is better than him, Vitali needs some decent fights now, shame there isnt any

    Wlad's wins are all dominant and he has been on top since 2006. I think he still is above Vitali.

    Wlad has: more wins; more title defences; and more belts.

    If Vitali never messed with kickboxing and went straight to boxing then he would prolly have about the same as above.

    He would also be my fav. of the two, b/c I like his style more.

    Problem with that statement is that his style .. especially his stance is kinda based on his kickboxing past..... if he would have never meddled in that who knows what style he would have now.
    Maybe a lot more orthodox.

    I also have him #1 based on:

    He was #1 and The Ring Magazine Heavyweight Champion when he retired.

    He came back and got his old belt back by beating the supposed #2 in Sam Peter

    He has now fought 2 fights and has only lost 1 round since returning.

    In my opinion he would beat Wlad

    Wlad have beaten more named heavies but he is not as good as his brother. That is apparant.

    How is his fight vs Sam Peter and Gomez not dominant? If winning 96%(I gave Sam 0 and Gomez 1) of all rounds and then going on to TKO them is not dominant I don't know what is.



    Anyways,

    Wlad is my #1 but id favor Vitali H2h.

    wlad is number 1 but vitali would kill him in the ring.

    vitali wants to beat people up in the ring and enjoys it

    As many already said, Wlad has beaten more top guy's in the last couple years, but H2H Vitali would kill Wlad, the first time he gets hit he would like a deer in the headlights, even worse than he did against Peter.

    After that pathetic performance, Wlad is still king. Peter is a joke, and Gomez exposed Vitali's weaknesses, his stamina, defense, speed, and average boxing skills.
