I hope this doesn't get deleted for mentioning a different site, but anyways, on the boxrec site, they give the fighter's world ranking and then there's a slash with a much higher number, does anyone know what that second number means? I used to think it meant the fighter's ranking on this date last year, but it doesn't make sense with some fighers (eg. Chad Dawson 4/555). Thanks.
The first number is the ranking that Boxrec has the fighter - the second number is how many fighters they have ranked. For for Bad Chad Dawson - they have him ranked #4 of 555 boxers in that Division. Now the 555 doesn't represent the number of fighters in that Division - just the number of Boxers they have ranked. The other day - someone posted a Thread of Butterbean's son and he was ranked like 451 of 450 Boxers in his Division. So as you can see - out of 450 Boxers - he was ranked 451 (not the actually numbers - but you get my point)
good point most people laugh when they see a boxer have a ranking if 556/555 it's not a mistake it means that man is unranked
