boxrec says cotto's next is Mayorga.

I don't think this fight is signed..Margarito is a possible opponent on that date.

Nope that isnt true. Margo has a small problem named Clottey. Its something that is going to have to be taken care of.

I started a post a few days ago that said I heard that Mayorga was next, and know it seems pretty likely. The fight with Margo wont happen until the fall.

 

Margarito will probably knock Cotto out. Mayweather turned down big money to avoid fighting him and he will not fight Cotto. However, if Margarito beats Cotto, Void will run from his again also.

 

that's boxrec what do you expect? they jump on the gun right away even if this fight is only a rumor. sometimes you can't rely on their info

 

Apparently Margo is going to vacate the belt in order to fight Cotto as they cant get another exception to avoid the mandatory. So that will leave Clottey fighting for the vacant belt against an unknown opponent. :good

That is what Arum wanted Margo to do instead of fighting Williams. If Margo didnt do that then I doubt that he will do that now. Beside Arum already worked his magic and got Cintron an exception to fight Margo. Cintron was due to fight Clottey this month.

This is how its going to go down.

In June Margo will fight Clottey, I believe in Mexico

In July cotto will fight mayorga.

If both win they will fight each other in October.

the winner will fight Floyd in the spring of 2009

 

How do people think Cotto would fair against Mayorga or Margarito? Would he beat both comfortably?

 

margarito isn't fighting clottey, idiot, he is going to vacate the title so clottey could fight for the vacant title on the undercard of cotto-margo.
