Area level opponents?? Thaxton is a former British and European champion, McAllister is current Commonwealth champ, Meager a former English and British champ, and Lawton an English champ with a win over Gethin. Plus, he was signed to fight John Fewkes, who pulled out. I can't see how these are Area level, and I believe Murray's stopped 3 guys ranked in the EBU top 10 in consecutive fights.

I agree that an Arthur fight would be excellent, especially with both men being the top EBU contenders.

Hopefully Murray beats Thaxton, and Hennessy fast tracks him into EBU title fight so that Murray can have a good fight with Arthur.

 

Thaxton and the Frenchman weren't hugging. It was probably the best European fight of its year - rounds 10 and 11 were riveting - and Jono has staged some dramatic comebacks. Wasn't he "finished" after the Romanov fight?

Thaxton lost to Glover up at welter; Thaxton will be a powerful lightweight with a dangerous punch on Sat, if nothing else.

This is a better fight than, say, Khan v Gomez, I would say.

Agree with Rumour24Tiger's last 2 posts. This is still a very good match up. Also Glover's not your usual journeyman really, he's a very good fighter who's been put in the deep end a fair few times (hence the losses).

Undercard is ****in dire thought for a TV event.

 

Murray does him inside 6 rounds if he doesnt walk on to a big one.

 

I'm with Rumour24Tiger (and not the consensus) on this.

Should be a good scrap. I still see Murray as the eventual victor but nowhere near the mismatch people are making this out to be.

Main event is worth the £30 notes though I reckon.
