Just had a scout around checking up on my 3 cruiserweight prospects.

Iago Kiladze 18(12)-0 is fighting a 12 rounder against TBA on the Senchenko-Malignaggi undercard

Youri Kalenga 10(6)-0 fought last Friday against the iron-chinned journeyman Remigijus Ziausys for the 2nd time & won a UD over 6 rounds. I cant find footage of the fight but here is Youri sparring the French HW champion..

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR4nzXGJFAQ&feature=related[/ame]

The Cuban Yunier Dorticos 13(13)-0 hasnt fought since Nov & has nothing scheduled :conf I asked one of the Cuban posters in the general about him & he said Yunier was lazy & liked to party a lot, hopefully he'll be back in action soon.

My boy Julio's fight before last one, he's fighting Cruz Carbajal next. He's up at Bantamweight as well now.

On watching that so much wrong with his work, he's beating people and i think he's only 19 but he's gotta tighten up in all area's.

His long range work is not good, his mid range punching is better. Defense is sloppy and i don't like the pull back with chin. His legs are all other place i think he needs to settle down a little. Get a solid base and work in balance and defence. Plus his finishing makes Mike Jones look economical...

Since that fight he stopped a better level operator in 4.

That was a lot better display against a former world title challenger, he was more thoughtful. The uppercut that set up the finish was lovely just as i was thinking it he threw it. He's talented the boy, worry about his legs there rather skinny and he's a little one paced but for 19 there's plenty there to be worked with and beating and stopping decent enough oppo. There was a brief glimpse of him inside pocket. He looked class in there, his defence is worrying but he's Mexican...

His next fight will be interesting..

^ He's a fun little fighter, very aggressive & he's confident in his chin :yep

I like his instincts & his combinations, hopefully he'll become a bit more refined as he ages

Yep spot on, he's got some moves of the great Mexican's. As you say refinement but it's amazing how a long limbed guy throws better short punches .

If this kid keeps developing he can win a world title. You see a development in those two fights. The first one he's just looking to bomb the guy out no respect. Next fight he's facing a southpaw and a world level fighter and he's pawing with jab, dropping levels to throw to body. Liked what i saw because after watching first fight today i wasn't to positive .

Time for a bump, how are everyone's prospects doing?

Youri Kalenga is now 12(7)-0 & I think he's fighting tonight against the former French cruiserweight champion Faisal Ibnel Arrami. Its a step up in class for Youri but I'm condfident he can win, here's his last fight (a 2nd round TKO) which is worth watching just for his ringwalk.

Iago Kiladze is 19(13)-0 & is back in action in November against TBA. This is his most recent fight from the Senchenko-Malignaggi undercard.

Yunier Dorticos still hasnt fought since November so I'm replacing him with this guy....

Stivens "Superman" Bujaj, 8(6)-0 an Albanian-born New Yorker. This former Golden Gloves winner has got a come-forward crowd pleasing style & looks very good for a 22 year old. He has a good following & his fans love him, check out the crowd reaction to this win...

Nice stuff Dr, My boy Ceja is still undefeated and got a fight coming up for the IBF Latino title. He's beating some former world champions and title challengers and next up he faces Genaro Garcia who took Wilfredo Vasquez Jnr 7 rounds not to long ago.

He was to fight for the Interim WBA title but it fell through sadly but he's active and facing some experienced foes. I'd like to see him after hopefully winning this fight move onto some more fresher opponents. He could well be fighting for a world title in next 12 months if he keeps up the activity.

They obviously rate the kid because there matching him with unbeaten fighters to former world champions so you see there's a balance and a thought behind his matchmaking.

    He's now 17 years old with 20 (16) - 0 record.

6 of his last 10 fights have finished in the first round, obviously the level of opposition has not been great but still impressive.

Also as predicted his last fight was in the Lightweight division.

    Isa "Bumblebee" Akberbayev 10(7)-0

Aged 29 the Kazakh may not be young but is an impressive looking prospect. At 6'3 he's a tall, technical fighter & like Golovkin is patient & accurate, he doesnt waste many shots & has a nice looking jab. Akberbayev will be on the Golovkin undercard later this month.
