Only thing boxrec is good for is finding results and when fights are scheduled for... its pretty good for both those things

its ranking system sucks, the forum there is awful and its run by douchebags. Still, it is a good site on the whole if you use it right

One thing i hate is when people look on boxrec, having never seen a particular fight, and comment on it based on what they saw in 4 lines of information

 

Boxrec is absolutely awesome resource...I use it every second day I reckon.

Obviously its going to be flawed though and it's rankings system is the worst..even it's editors think so.

 

I love BoxRec and have no problems with it for one reason. I use it for fighters records. Thats it. I don't pay attention to their ratings (which are horrible) and I rarely browse the forums.

Agree Gonzo you can never get the story based on a simple W or L next to a name.

 

The old boxrec bandits are annoying but easy to make look foolish if you have actually seen the fight they are talking about.

 

Boxrec as a database is sensational. Its rankings system is a farce and no one takes it remotely seriously. If just used as a guide its ok. Obviously records never quite do justice to how great a particular fighter was in the past. Especially so many great ones which had a few losses on their resume and fought everyone.

 

You're just pissed off because Greeny is the 3rd best Cruiserweight in the world and you hate him.:tong

 

both fenech and rose should be higher on the list

 

I would gladly rate "Greeny" in the lower top 10 but 3rd umm no.

Seriously tho always nice on your resume when it reads TKO 1 Roy Jones Jr...looks alot better on paper.

 

I was one of the handful of guys that wanted ratings ditched. Constantly being queried gave me the shits

I'm now senior editor & as such other OZ editors names will be replaced with my photo

 

Some names and ranking seem skewiff, or out of order; I would like to look at the forumula that was applied to this.

 

The bloke that's done them & perfected them over, over & over again is German......so what da fark do you expect?

 

Boxrec is great for facts but not opinions.
