For centuries, men have wondered, "Who is the best writer?" The deep untamed urge of humanity to engage in vicious verbal combat has never been quenched.

Now, you can see all the slicing syllogisms, the pounding periods, the murderous metaphors in true NO HOLDS BARRED ESSAY WRITING:

    The BoxWriter Word Combat Championships

Drawn from the four corners of the internet, warrior typists stand ready to answer the call. These propounders of primitive pugilism (you know, Classic section posters) will face off in the most brutal essay contest known to man.

The rules are simple: Compose a 250 word essay on the boxing subject of YOUR choice.Yes, that's right--ANYTHING GOES. On August 6th, a poll will be added, and the winner will be voted by the entire Classic Forum.

To the victors go the spoils...

The winner will receive the BWCC Championship Belt and the right to say that he stood up to the best essayists in the world and triumphed.*

    Many Competitors...No Way Out.

    ARE YOU READY?

    * Fine print: In the event that the BWCC champion retires rather than face worthy opposition, he will be given the BWCC Super-Duper-Emeritus Belt and the right to never have to defend his title again. Under no circumstances should the BWCC champion be seen fraternizing with any other beltholders (especially the BOX! champion) or he will immediately be stripped. The champion's fight film, image, autograph, life and soul are exclusively the property of the BWCC. Unification will take place very soon--i.e. after a cold front descends on Hell.
