Just confirmed they have signed Eubank JR.......which is odd, because we keep being told by the usual couple of oddballs on here that they aren't able to sign new fighters anymore.

Odd signing, yes he's a big name but he's at the tail end of his career, inactive, difficult to manage and let's face he was always fringe never world class. Suppose if the rumours Sky are losing interest in boxing and only want to do box office then this deal makes sense.

The dude is 35 in a few months, I'm not sure about their vision of a"long term" partnership. It's all bollocks.

 

Sounds like Eubank's people have been trying to get him a big title fight, but he's been told it's a non-starter without UK TV backing.

Are broadcasters stupid ? Only having Box Office doesn’t work. Prime time, died on its arse. ITV Box Office, died on its arse. PBC on Amazon, dying on its arse. You have to build some fighters up or there will be no headliners in the future. Sky wanted to have an all women’s PPV. Who’s buying that ? No women that’s for sure. I wouldn’t watch that for free and I’m a boxing nut. Thick as sh1te and on massive salaries no doubt. Are they planning to have a 50 year old George Groves re matching with Eubank Jr in 2038 with Campbell Hatton’s son fighting on the undercard with Naz’s grandson, while we wait for AJ’s son to be old enough to fight one of the Fury offspring. Greedy and stupid.
