I was joking bud. You are right I do give Hearn stick, but I’ve said on many occasions that he has been fantastic for our sport in this country over the last decade. Especially around the Froch-Groves rematch time. Just don’t waste your time reading his book, what a load of crap .
What was convenient about leaving it out? Okolie isn't fun to watch, no one Is going to challenge you on that and I'm sure most people were watching for CBS and the general card/event but on this occasion he got well watched. I personally don't get the hostility of it being on sky showcase, for me it's a great thing, a chance for more people than usual to watch boxing rather than it being stuck behind another paywall. I would rather as many fights as possible be shown on showcase or channel 5 but for some reason it's seen as an opportunity to put down or ridicule an event, I simply don't get that mentality. It's a bit like a certain poster on here who goes into defensive / denial mode when free tickets are given away for shows! How is that a bad thing for fans?! It's great if you were thinking of going and that encourages you to go for free. As a few have pointed out, almost all UK Matchroom shows give masses & masses of free tickets away, a good thing, and yet some, even with proof they are being given away get defensive and worked up about it denying they exist. I really don't get it, the more accessible the sport is for fans the better
I can confirm having been bought this book by my daughter that this assessment of the book is correct.
If he boxes Chisora or Whyte when he steps up next year people will watch and you know that. Even with a loss on his record and his huggy bear routine, people love watching heavyweights. Plus he’s got a 75% ko percentage.
Just to clarify my friend, regardless of my post above, I won’t be watching obviously. He’s dull as dishwater . Would rather watch Mikaela Mayer outpoint a randomly picked midwife who needs the extra cash over 10 2 minute rounds.
