It seems like he chose to fight Buatsi over Bivol, ignoring other parts of the negotiations. Buatsi Azeez on August 19 in Brighton will be announced by Friday.
This content is protected I think it may go to purse bids as I’m not sure whether both sides will be able to agree a deal. I don’t mind if it’s in Australia because at least it would be at a watchable time in the morning unlike in the US. We’d all prefer it to be in the UK though which will only happen if Boxxer win the purse bid / agree a deal with Opetaia.
This content is protected Pulls out on the day of the purse bids. Disgraceful to be honest. Not sure what the plan is for Riakporhe since Okolie has said he wants to rematch Billam-Smith. Disappointing for all looking forward to Opetaia against Riakporhe.
This content is protected Shalom is the one messing around. Matchroom have expanded their shows to Australia and have a good stable there already with Liam Paro, Stevie Spark, Justis Huni, Skye Nicholson and Ebanie Bridges. An Australian promotional company called Tasman Fighters have recently signed a deal to promote their shows in Australia on DAZN. Jai Opetaia has been signed to Tasman Fighters and has since signed a co-promotional agreement with Matchroom (similar to Bivol being promoted by World of Boxing and Matchroom) in the hope of getting him some big fights and more exposure. Shalom looking like a mug here. He has a PPV show coming up on September, and then one good show featuring 2 good domestic 50-50 fights in October, but nothing else on the horizon.
I think sky and BT have given up on all sport, how on earth can they compete with a broadcaster that has the rights to the phenomenal, highly sought after Saudi football league. No point In them wasting money on shows as the nation will be gripped watching every game and rerun of this incredible league
Bridges didn't want to be part of Australian fighting. Nicholson has fought there once ever. Spark's last two were Mexico and US. Huni and Paro, fair enough, but it's hardly a massive stable down under.
This content is protected Eddie Hearn has Ben Shalom on the ropes. Also seems that Shalom is purposefully trying to clash with Matchroom shows. It’s been well-known that Matchroom have a show planned on September 30 in London… They have only had one show in Australia last year and will have one more headlines by Opetaia this year. Tasman Fighters do quite a few shows broadcasted in the UK as well in Australia. I think they want to take the top talent in Australia and box them elsewhere in the world afterwards.
