To be fair those numbers are in line with Benn and Chisora’s latest fights. Times are hard for a lot of people.

 

The pricing for this is very low can't remember £31 for an 02 fight before?

 

Me neither but we all slag women’s boxing off and say it’s crap and then when they don’t do many tickets we have a pop at that too

 

When you see Sandy Ryan 3-1 and is currently #5 in the world according to Boxrec.

I struggle to take it seriously.

I agree with you mate. We all get told ‘it’s not women’s boxing it’s just boxing’ so what level would Marshall and Shields be in the men’s division... that’s why I think the amount of tickets they’ve sold is a decent effort as it more than reflects the standard.

 

Given the limited pool though, surely that's just the natural effect? Less opposition means faster progress?

They should probably create different weight divisions for women and solve it that way - given they seem to move around those divisions more comfortably than most men - but until there's more boxers it won't be much different. See also the likes of Bridges behaving like she's Tyson Fury winning a "world title" in a handful of fights.

Was going say, 4k tickets sold already is pretty good I reckon. Given they hardly ever need to open the top tier of the O2 for boxing any more, it’s probably on a par with most fights there over the last year or so.

 

Just seen that ‘KSI’ v whoever he’s fighting has almost sold out. Saddos.

The headliner is a 52 year old man called Simple Simon against a 19 year old. He released a "diss track" on him before the weigh-in. It sold out the small venue at the 02. I think more people will watch that than the BT card today.

 

Agree. Think it will hit 10,000. Fight should never have been in London tbh.
