His loss was 12 years ago. Can that really be used as reference? I mean who knows how much he has improved his boxing skills in 12 years...
is this the mma forum????....or im confused..who cares........!.....the spider is alright, but i cannot see him with may, paquiao, valero bradley, under boxing rules of course...i think you should post this on mma forums and quit boxing altogether.
He got knocked out by a Brazilian tomatoe can, why do you even think he would be close to a top 40 fighter? Please!!!!! If he was a pro boxer he would be the type that would be used to pad a prospects record.
when he decides to lace 'em up for real and get out the cage, let me know, til then move it to the MMA forum.
8:57 - Holy ****., Anderson almost got his head ripped off with that shot. Anyway he's a decent boxer. He's definitely better then most MMA fighters I've seen, but he wouldn't do that great in boxing.
i can sense that this thread will quickly turn into boxing vs. mma. i started watching mma about 3 yrs ago. been into it ever since. some of the ground moves are gay as hell but they are effective and that ends all arguments especially when you are choked the **** out or have your limb torn into two pieces. as for spider silva, he is phenomenal in the ufc. he is basically doing what pac is doing at welterweight. i think he at least deserves a chance to compete against pro boxers.
I've seen a lot worse from professional boxers. I like how he works his way to the side of his opponent to throw from angles. You can tell he throws with power and can take a decent punch. But then again the guy who he was sparring was terrible! I actually don't know who was worse, the guy he was sparring, or the guys trainer...(after the guy gets hit on the way in and misses his own punch), his trainer shouts, 'Nice try!.' atsch
Yeah, but we have other evidence to go on with Pac. His KO is one of many fights we can look at. Silva got KO'd 12 years ago and has fought once since then. In the absence of any real evidence we have about Silva being a good boxer, we'll have to use the only two fights we have for him.
Those are not the only two fights we have. He has a whole career in MMA. Sure, he isn't fighting top strikers, but you'd be able to tell FMJ is good if he fought bums. Not exactly how good, but you'd generaly see.
