We can as well now agree unanimously how absurd this Martinez-Cotto fight. We see where Mayweather's true level against a quality pressure fighter is and we saw how Cotto did well, but then faded stamina wise and was gun shy due to decreased durability from the Margarito and Pacquaio beatdowns.

Cotto definitely fights the best. No criticism there.

The problem is Martinez ducking 3G to fight this fight and the fans thinking this is a good fight, this fight needs to tank even worse than the Maidana fight so that HBO forces a 3G-Martinez showdown.

Martinez is claiming he is healed up and back to normal, so no age/injury excuses. He is fighting a shot to pieces Welterweight that could do nothing against Austin Trout.

The Martinez that faced Murray and barely won is still better in a MW sense than Austin Trout and far more stylistically difficult for the smaller, shotter, less durable Cotto that hasn't taken a MW punch.
This fight sucks and represents all that is wrong with boxing. Do not buy this fight, please.:p

Martinez = Worst lineal champ ever at MW.

Well there is the chance Maravilla has aged overnight. And just because he says he's 100% , at his age, he's more prone to getting injured like in the Murray fight and things can go bad for Martinez real quick. So tho Cotto has a small chance, he's still got one. And with Roach, Cotto has more confidence and hope. He knows Maravilla is a true 154lber and takes a punch like one too. Relies more on reflexes, speed, and power, fights like a young fighter. Also, if Cotto manages to get on the inside, where Sergio is weak, Sergio is in big trouble. Cotto will be game at the very least.

In my opinion a PPV fight is supposed to be for 2 top fighters not an A side versus a C level fighter like Rios or Maidana.

Having said that I think we also need to learn the difference between an interesting fight and a good fight.

Any relatively decent boxing fan knows Cotto and Sergio. However... Cotto has lost convincingly against the last few good fighters he has faced. Secondly if Sergio hasn't healed then you have 2 broken fighters as a PPV headline...and if he IS healed, what the hell is he doing fighting a guy that wasn't even a good jr Middle??

Wow OP, you almost redefine the concept of butthurtness!

A lot of peoples seems to think that Cotto is an extremely dangerous fighter since he broke Floyd's nose. Hence, it should be a balanced fight, shouldn't it?

    it can go either way.
i think cottos health will help him alot.
sergio gets hurt left and right.

if the age doesnt affect sergio that much an no injuries sergo should b able to pull it off.

but thats a big if imo.

and cotto at the new weight we will have to wait n see how he looks at 160.
and we dont really know how good he is with roach yet. just cuz they wooped d rod that doesnt mean much imo
