I know, I think me and you have been in agreement on most stuff on this forum since I started posting here.
...Henry Fonda would have probably said something like this...at some point, "We know categorically that Shane Mosley went into a competitive boxing match having used Steroids. We don't categorically know that Margarito ever entered the ring with loaded gloves." ..Here's a comparison for you. What's the difference between murder and attempted murder?
Margarito will probably never be the main event in a PPV again. He's getting old and the glove issue will keep him from it. So to boycott him would mean to boycott everyone on the card. Should he have gotten worst, yea, but they didn't do that. You want someone to blame, blame the California athletic commission.
And what evidence did they have for Margarito's hearing? ...Tell you what, we'll cut this one short a bit. Did they have enough evidence to prosecute?
Lack of interest. Very little there. Maybe I'd have more interest in it if I was planning to pay for it. Even then,Clottey for Pac as a fight just doesn't exactly get me excited.
Disciplinary hearing....... http://www.myboxingfans.com/2009/02/...te-now-sealed/ Sentencing hearing....... http://www.scribd.com/doc/17736616/S...AC-a-Margarito Excerpts...... License inspector Mike Bray was called to testify and to reiterate what was found on the hand wraps–which he said looked “moist and dirty looking. Recalling what he saw when summoned to the dressing room and first seeing the wrap,..... “I immediately retrieved it. I believe it was an illegal pad–it needed to be confiscated. I observed what appeared to be a bloodstain. It was not new and their was This content is protected ”- Mike Bray, License Inspector It was stated that there was more arguing from Capetillo and Richardson in the dressing room. When Lohuis walked in he saw the tape was too far back on the wrists and told them take it off and in both English and Spanish, trying to calm them down as the wraps were removed again. Having over 25 years experience he said he’s supervised over 20,000 fights. When questioned if he still believed the hand wraps were indeed illegal he stated firmly, “No doubt then, no doubt now. The wraps I found had the knuckle pad altered in some form. They were hard. I didn’t think twice when I pulled them out as illegal.” - Dean Lohuis, Chief Inspector Can we put to bed the idea that Margarito isn't guilty or that he is the victim of some ridiculous conspiracy. Sometimes it seems the only thing people will accept that will convince them is either a full confession from Margarito, video footage or them personally seeing him do this. Is this normally what it takes for people to be convinced of someone's guilt or innocence? So why does this guy get the benefit of the doubt? He got caught cheating. If you cheat, you will lie. End of story.
As long as there's some bored ass dude in Baja, California, we're going to get conspiracy theories. If Arum truly felt ****ed over, he would've sued by now.
This. Right here. :good Arum is a snake -- a brilliant snake, but a snake nonetheless. If there was the slightest spider-web hairline crack of legal daylight that he could have used to get his people off, he'd have done it. And he didn't; they sucked it up because they had to. That tells you pretty much everything you need to know.
Agreed. They got a slap on the wrist. If you want a conspiracy theory to hang your hat on, look into that one. It is far more likely that he used his "influence" to get Margarito a light punishment than that the csac was "out to get Margarito" , with their only reward being to make their own people look bad in the process.
