Was there ever any talks about the possibility of these 2 coming together....why/why not...I have long wondered what would happen if these 2 met...it seems like back around 82-83 this could have been a possibility... What would happen if they did?

There was never any talk of them fighting to the best of my knowledge. Nelson made his first title attack at 130 in late 87, Boza was fighting at 135 from 84 onwards and actually retired in 87. Realistically there was never any chance of them fighting. I loved Boza, he was a damn fine fighter and always put on a fantastic show. At their best at 130 Nelson wins IMO, but Boza would give a damn good account of himself rest assured. What an exciting battle it would be.

Never any talk of it; Nelson was a Featherweight in 82/83; comming off Sanchez there was plenty for him to fight that 126, there was no need to move up.

If they had met in 82/83, I think although Edwards peaked in 1980-81, he would still have enough (plus the added bonus of being more comfortable at 130), to get by the still greenish Nelson by razor thin decision.

Of course overall Nelson showed himself in the end the finer fighter.

Nelson would win on close verdict, though it wouldn't surprise me if Cornelius pulled it out and ran up the apes.
