I just hope they find a decent opponent for Nathan to fight on Saturday for the vacant title. I'm a massive fan of Clev and I am in no doubt he would have beaten Braehmer had the fight gone ahead. Who is ever going to sign a fight with him again?

Whoever Warren annouces as a replacement needs to be credible for a world title shot. Also the fight will need to be still for the world title (not the interim sh!t) for it to remain a PPV event. In fairness to Warren he has put 14 fights on this bill and 5 of which are of a very high class. It's not his fault the mandatrory opponent for the title has a sore Vaj.

    Just in off SKY

Nathan Cleverly admits he has been left "devastated" by Juergen Braehmer's no-show.

"I'm devastated to be honest. This is a fight I've wanted for over a year, he was the champion, he had the belt I wanted, it was my dream opportunity and he's let everyone down."

Braehmer, the WBO light-heavyweight champion, has failed to arrive in Britain for their eagerly-anticipated match-up at the 02 Arena on Saturday night - the second time this year he has done so.

Reports from Germany suggest an eye injury prevented him travelling, but it is of little consolation to the Welshman - who could yet be elevated to full world champion without throwing a punch.

"I would rather win it on Saturday night," he told skysports.com on arriving at a media workout having just heard the news.

"As far as I'm concerned the world title is still on the line on Saturday night and when I win I will be world champion. Whoever I beat, that's my dream.

"But I'm devastated to be honest.

"This is a fight I've wanted for over a year, he was the champion, he had the belt I wanted, it was my dream opportunity and he's let everyone down.

"He's been very unprofessional. He was getting paid good money so why not come and fight and lose the title in the ring instead. But he's decided to take the easy route. It's a little bit difficult to take."

Warren and his team will be lobbying the WBO to strip Breahmer of his title and give it to Cleverly, who is already the interim champion.

A new opponent is expected to be named this afternoon. It is the second time in as many fights that Cleverly has been forced to deal with a last-minute change in opponent after Frenchman Nadjib Mohammedi stepped in the day before his interim title win in December.

And having been through it once before, the 24-year-old says whoever they get to replace Braehmer is going to pay for the German's no-show.

"I had a similar situation last time with the guy pulling out and someone stepping in late who I hadn't seen," he said.

"I've learned from that, so I'll be able to cope with it mentally. I'll pick myself up, don't worry about that - and destroy whoever's in front of me.

Braehmer didnt even win the title in the first place and has hardly defended it. He deserves it

Stick Tonny Bellew up against Cleverly, that would salvage it

Does Cleverly really have a stronger case to be champ than Braehmer?:think

He will probably be given/bought the title though:?

This is like the 5th time Brähmer pulls out of a fight. Remember he claimed he had food poisoning before the Shumenov bout.

I wrote like 3 months ago that I would not be surprised if he pulls out of the Cleverly fight.

Brähmer is mentally extremely fragile, just like Ulrich (who got destroyed by Adamek) he keeps pulling out of fights and coming up with excuses as the pressure builds.

Google Brähmer's history. He has canceled, delayed and ditched out of fights half a dozen of times or so. Brähmer ought to be stripped by the WBO, asap.

if Brahmer really got cut and thats not hard to prove its understandable that he pulled out considering that the McCloskey fight got stopped by some baby cut recently in the UK and once Cleverly opens the cut they can rule it as tko basically anytime. imo the the whole card should just get rescheduled

The belt will mean **** all to Nathan unless he wins it against a credible opponent.

Tony Bellew - FFS, Nathan rips him a new arse inside 3 rounds.
