    Who should be ranked higher?
Both pulled offgreat heavyweight upsets and never scaled as high again. And both had some bad L s on their records.
I've actually got Braddock at 42 and Buster one below him.
    Iyo, who's higher?

Braddock, Braddock beat multiple contenders and didn't succumb to his own sloth and gluttony after winning the title, giving Louis one of his toughest fights. More consistent and dedicated man with the deeper resume.

I agree with everything you say. But, best vs best I would pick Douglas to beat Braddock.

No doubts about that. Braddock would be beaten conclusively by Buster, head to head.

Braddock has a slightly deeper resume against contenders, and his career a light heavyweight gives him a bit of a pound for pound argument.

I would be inclined to favor Douglas head to hear though.

The Douglas who beat Tyson would win but the Buster who fought Holyfield would lose badly

If you say so. I never said he would knock him out but he would win.

Not at heavyweight , and Braddock was far from consistent 47-24-4. He has Lasky ,Baer, and a dubious win over Farr.
    Douglas 37-6-1 has Tyson,Page,Cobb, Berbick,McCall.

Because of being starved and injured during the great depression, not of his own laziness

Braddock was a fair boxer but nothing special ,he wasnt as quick as Douglas ,didn't have as good a jab ,and wasn't as mobile.
After looking at his heavyweight resume, explain why he would win?

Braddock was not starved when he was a light heavyweight contender, nor was he injured ,and he was regularly dropping decisions then.Look it up.
