You are smarter than this, and I mean that with all due respect, "ran like a *****"...you don't believe that ****. The man was going through promotional issues and is getting to a point in his career where he has to maximize his opportunities because his window for making money is closing. He couldn't afford to take that fight, at that time, with that promotion...I don't see how you can't get that. Now that the issue is resolved,t here's nothing holding them back. Khan, his fans, and everyone with any boxing sense what so ever knew the deal with Bradley.

 

No, you don't have the opportunity to unify 140. It's pointless even talking about split because it isn't even possible for the fight to be made! Bradley knows this full well, and is just trying to save face by all of a sudden finding the urge to fight Khan again.

You talk about maximizing his earning whilst he's in his prime, then explain to me his logic of breaching a contract which will have forced him to remain inactive for almost a full year? If he fought Khan like he should have, he would have recieved at least 1.4 mill, avoided all the legal bull**** with his promoters, and most importantly, would still have been on course to sign with TR and feature on Pacquiao's undercard.

 

Arum and Schaefer had no problem negotiating with Mayweather and Manny, what makes you think they would have a problem making this fight happen?

Okay, THEY have the opportunity to determine top fighter at 140. Could Bradley have been informed that he won't get the Pacquiao fight next for sure so he's seeking out Khan now?

 

Bradley remaining inactive whilst Khan makes two additional title defences and picking up another world title in the process, is what's changed. Not to mention the fact that Khan has now more or less matched Bradley's 140 resume (according to some), has been afforded the time to further expand his name amongst US boxing fans, and be a little bit more of a stronger draw than what he was two fights ago. And because Bradley robbed him of the chance to unify the division and secure the number one spot, Khan has every right to no longer give him the generous 50-50 complete pot that includes UK money. I wouldn't take take too much notice of his rant presented in the opening post (the 70-30 split), however, it has to be said, Khan has more reason to demand slightly more than the original 50-50 split.

Not that this even matters, because as mentioned, they're now with two beefing promoters, and the fight isn't even a possibility. This is just poxy damage limitation, from Bradley.

 

No, I don't think so. His Pacquiao fight is practically secured if he remains undefeated from now and until mid 2012. He's just calling Khan out to sway public opinion. He pulled the same trick before, when he called Khan out when Khan was already signed to fight McCloskey in a warm-up bout. He [Bradley] knew the fight couldn't be staged sooner than July, and he knew it couldn't take place anywhere but in the US, but he still called Khan a runner and that he'd be prepared to travel to the UK to fight him in April.

 

wtf is a Khan payday compared to a Pac payday? Bradley's already proven himself as far as taking on the toughest challengers, this duck talk is bull****. Khan doesn't deserve 70%, maybe 60% if he really is as big a draw as he thinks he is but if I was Bradley I'd want to see some hard numbers proving that.

He had issues with Shaw long before he turned down that fight, and those issues were clearly the main reason he did not go through with it.

There was no breach of an actual contract; Shaw's lawsuit was a total nuisance case from an obviously butthurt promoter. You can reasonably say that Bradley should have avoided the suit anyway and fought but that's an entirely different argument.

You claim that Bradley's offer to fight in the UK with Khan was just empty bluster, and I agree. However, I likewise view the 50-50 offer from Khan as also hot air; it was made when it was clear Bradley's promotional troubles would prevent the fight from getting made at all and was done only to enhance Khan's own reputation. I honestly don't think anyone in the sport would have acted differently from Bradley given the fact that he'd already technically be a free agent when the fight took place. No one takes a fight of that stature when they're not going to be promotionally protected, especially a relative non-draw like Bradley whose primary assets are his belts and his 0.

Yes yes, the response will be that if Bradley was so damn tough he should have believed he'd beat Khan anyway. I'm sorry, but that kind of bravado befits journalist and armchair warriors, and not those who actually have to fight for a living IMO.

 

I don't agree he's upped his drawing power, but I do agree Bradley should have been fighting while Khan has... I don't see any issue with him requesting a slightly larger purse, but the way he was talking seems like he doesn't want the fight, instead of him wanting a fair share of the purse.

Why would he sign with Top Rank now though? I think he was under the impression he'd get the fight immediately, like everyone else who recently signed to Top Rank to fight Pac. I think he has the opportunity to fight Khan now, and wants to take it. Maybe Arum signed him early knowing he wouldn't work with Oscar to get a fight with Khan made, and wanted to insure he doesn't get beat before facing Pac like you said... I just don't think it's Bradley calling out Khan because he knows he won't get the fight and is just trying to save face.

 

Arum probably told Bradley that Pac isn't interested in fighting him and that's why Bradley is targetting a Khan fight now. Khan has every right to ignore Bradley and move on with his career. He tried real hard to make the fight happen, offered Bradley a sweet ass deal only for Bradley to back out during the negotiations. And I like Bradley more than Khan.
