Saunders was getting beaten down, got knocked down and then head butted his opponent blatantly drawing the DQ.

Good point by Smith- why did he wear Grant (punchers) gloves? It's not like he's the second coming of Julian Jackson.

 

I do remember watching Saunders when Billy Nelson was training him and he looked great then. Ever since he seemed to just look no where as good unfortunately.

Can imagine it's really difficult with injuries but still.

No excuse for the headbutt though, Ref did a great job.

 

Saunders looked unfit, saying that he was in against someone who is clearly better than his record suggests and has tested and beaten good fighters.
Saunders took it for granted and couldn't handle someone who isn't phased by his punches, he kept looking for a KO despite not putting a dent in his foe, stick and move and tie up - instead he laid on the ropes and the pressure eventually told and the headbutt was disgraceful.
