Yeah, Holt is a very underrated puncher, imo. But I always thought he liked to stand back and admire his work too much instead of finishing. Got very comfortable out-boxing people and didn't care about the knockout. But maybe you're right and he was just protecting his jaw.
Dont want this isnt a bad move for Bradley hes fighting a guy who just went life and death with a shot Guiterrez. Bradley's to skilled he will pull out a decision maybe with a KD or 2 on a counter right hand. Shows his courage though going up in weight to fight an undefeated, powerpunching because nobody wants to fight him. I guess this will setup Judah-Alexander ? Please get Bradley-Alexander after it.
Me too! I think Tim is one of the best Jr WW's at the moment with a huge upside potentially. He is working with a very solid foundation with a good amount of talent. I think he should stay at Jr WW but think he'll be able to get by his next foe.
What the hell do you want? In his last five fights, he's fought Junior Witter (top 3 JWW at the time), Nate Campbell (top 5 JWW and recent unified lightweight titlist), Kendall Holt (top 5 JWW and titlist) and Anthony Peterson (his mandatory and a top 10 JWW). He's been fighting the best guys out there, a bunch of high-risk low-reward types. Just right now, everyone else is tied up. The only options at 140 were Casamayor (who's an old lightweight) and Kotelnik (who has no name recognition in the US).
considering the other big guns at 140 are taken .... Bradley fighting @ Welter might seem risky but more importantly it gets him on HBO and in the ring .... just because he can't get a fight vs a top Junior Welter doesn't mean he should be sitting out fights vs the Khan/Malignaggi Ortiz/Campbell or Maidana/Cayo winner are that easier to make.
Abregu has flaws, but he's not a bum and he'd be tough for any JWW (not named Manny Pacquiao) to step up to and fight. I thought he boxed reasonably well in his last fight.
