"Although neither side would disclose the terms of the deal -- or even admit that there was one -- sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN.com that Mayweather agreed to pay Maidana an additional $1.5 million to change gloves. That doubled Maidana's official purse, which was $1.5 million on his Nevada contract. However, sources told ESPN.com that Maidana was guaranteed $4.2 million and wound up earning at least $5.7 million, including the payment for the gloves change."

...have you ignored almost everything said in the thread? The purses are very different to what some fighters get paid. Maidana's "official purse" won't have included domestic TV rights.

if not for the bribe maidana (1) took to wear pillow gloves, algieri would have made more.

With the ridiculous focus on purses these days (flo-moes mainly) it wouldn't be too far fetched some promotors might try to inflate purses for publicity. It does make Bradley look more important after all, compared to if he was payed a sum more in line with general expectations for a fight like this.

    My point is simple:

Bradley is getting $2m + potential upside from non-PPV revenue to fight CHAVES

Maidana got paid $1.5m + upside totaling estimated about $3-4m (after deducting how much he got paid to wear different gloves) to fight MAYWEATHER

It's not unfair. Who the hell is Diego Chaves? Anyone ever heard of him?
Also $35,000 might be like $2 million in Argentina.

Ever heard of the cost of living?

Tim is the A side... I wish Chavez was getting more but Tim paid his dues and deserves what he gets. Bradley is a top fighter with a following that has been built by beating and fighting the top guys on his way up. Boxing is a tough business just as tough as it is inside the ropes.
